I didn't mean to let a week go by between postings, but sometimes life gets busy. I've been sticking well to my 'no sweets' lent challenge, although I did cheat on it once. I went to a birthday party at which it would have been rude for me to refuse the offered cake. So, I took a small piece of cake and no ice cream and savored it. I was surprised when the sugar didn't set off a sugar craving. YEA! Usually once I eat something sugary I immediately want more of the same, but that didn't happen this time. I found that after the first three days or so of no sugar, I stopped craving it. Of course, when 'that time of the month' rolls around, I may be singing a different song.
Otherwise, I haven't weighed myself, but I don't think I've lost any weight. sigh. Even though I'm not eating sugary stuff, I am still overeating other foods. But, hey, at least they are healthier foods. LOL. One step at a time, right?
The worst time of the day for me is right when I get home from work and I'm cooking supper. I'm usually hungry then and tend to pick at whatever I can in the kitchen. If I would just stick to my planned meals (and one snack) every day, I know I'd lose weight. So, that's the next thing I have to work on. Maybe I need to find some healthy, low cal, food to chew on while I'm cooking dinner. Maybe some celery or a rice cake would do the trick. I'll have to give it a try.
Oh, and I bought some Russel Stover sugar free breakfast bars completely forgetting that I've eaten sugar free candy before and it wreaks havoc on my digestive system. Of course it took me over a week to finally realize why I was so gassy. I bet I won't forget that again! LOL
I promise that I'll get on the scale sometime by the end of next week and report my progress or failure.
